Key Responsibilities

A. Governance and Strategic Input ·         Serve as the primary point of contact between the Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator and stakeholders in their state or territory. ·         Through the Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator, advise the Management Committee on local priorities consistent with HOPE’s Strategic Plan. ·         Contribute to national strategic discussions where regional insight is required.   B. Relationship Development ·         Identify and recommend potential strategic partnerships aligned with HOPE’s objectives, including with community groups, research institutions, advocacy bodies, and relevant stakeholders. ·         Facilitate introductions between the Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator Committee and key local stakeholders when appropriate. ·         Represent HOPE at selected events, forums, or meetings where endorsed by the Management Committee via the Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator.   C. Volunteer Support and Coordination ·         Act as a secondary point of contact for volunteers (after the Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator) located within their state or territory. ·         Provide informal mentoring and encouragement to volunteers engaged in HOPE-related activities. ·         Assist in fostering collegiality, communication, and collaboration among volunteers within the jurisdiction. ·         Support the Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator in identifying prospective volunteers and contributors locally.   D. Communication and Reporting ·         Provide brief written or verbal updates to the Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinator and Management Committee at agreed intervals. ·         Ensure that any public statements or representations of HOPE are consistent with approved messaging and policy.   E. Compliance and Conduct ·         Uphold HOPE’s mission, values, and strategic objectives. ·         Observe all organisational policies, including Code of Ethics, governance policies, cultural competency commitments, and any AI or research integrity policies. ·         Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive organisational information. ·         Avoid conflicts of interest and declare any potential conflicts promptly.     Selection Criteria   Essential ·         Demonstrated alignment with HOPE Inc.’s mission and values. ·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills. ·         Capacity to think strategically and provide informed advice. ·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a volunteer capacity.   Desirable ·         Established networks or familiarity with relevant organizations or sectors within the state or territory. ·         Experience in community engagement, advocacy, research, governance, or not-for-profit organizations. ·         Understanding of state or territory policy frameworks relevant to HOPE’s areas of work. ·         Experience mentoring or supporting volunteers.     Time Commitment ·         Estimated commitment: Approximately 3–6 hours per month. ·         Attendance at periodic national online meetings as agreed. ·         Flexible engagement depending on local opportunities and organizational priorities.
