Many of our stores operate 7 days a week, and even as little as 4 hours per week can make a meaningful impact.   In this role, volunteers may assist with tasks such as:

  • Sorting and categorising donated clothing and textiles
  • Identifying items suitable for sale, recycling, or rag cutting
  • Preparing unsellable textiles for recycling (rag cutting)
  • Assisting with stock organisation in the storeroom
  • Supporting the retail team by preparing items for the shop floor
  • Maintaining a tidy, safe and organised sorting area while following safe work practices

The volunteers we are seeking will ideally:

  • Be reliable and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Be comfortable with hands-on tasks and working in a storeroom environment
  • Have a positive and flexible attitude
  • Be respectful and supportive of others
  • Be willing to work within the ethos and values of the St Vincent de Paul Society QLD
