Vinnies Women's Crisis Centre - Dining Room Assistant (THURSDAY)

St Vincent de Paul has a Women’s Crisis Centre providing an emergency crisis accommodation service to women and their children (and their pets), giving a ‘soft landing’ for women in crisis - including victims of domestic violence seeking temporary safe accommodation. Accommodation at the Centre offers family rooms that can accommodate one adult and up to three children, along with communal areas and a garden. Three meals are provided daily, together with laundry and other services. Pet boarding is also provided working in partnership with animal welfare agencies.

We are seeking a volunteer assistant to help coordinate the serving of the evening meal for our guests. Duties include:

• Being present in the dining room during meal service
• Assisting and supporting the cook throughout the service
• Helping ensure the meal service runs smoothly

This role also involves providing a friendly and welcoming presence to mothers who may have experienced trauma. The position is well suited to someone who is gentle, patient, compassionate, and non-judgmental.

We have a vacancy on Thursday 4.30pm - 6.30pm on a fortnightly basis.
