#Help Shape the Future of Rights-Based Advocacy in the ACT
Your professional expertise and lived experience belong in the room. ADACAS is seeking Strategic Advisors currently living in the ACT to join our inaugural Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP). We are looking for individuals who possess a systems-level view and a passion for human rights to help ensure our work has a stronger, more meaningful impact across the community.
ADACAS is specifically seeking professionals who have lived experience of disability, mental ill-health, or who are carers for someone with disability or mental ill-health. The purpose of the Lived Experience Advisory Panel is to ensure that our service improvements are guided by the voices and insights of those with direct, firsthand experience within this community. With this approach, we aim to achieve more meaningful impact and better outcomes for the people we serve.
#The Role As a member of the LEAP, you will serve as a high-level strategic partner to ADACAS. You will bridge the gap between service delivery and community impact by: *Shaping systemic advocacy and accessibility planning. *Guiding rights-based service design and innovation. *Ensuring policy priorities reflect the diverse expertise of people with disability, mental health journeys, older persons, and carers.
#Who We Are Looking For We are seeking professionals who can apply their intellect through the lens of lived experience. We welcome backgrounds in: *Policy Analysis or Law *Human-Centered Design *Digital Strategy or Governance *Social Justice & Human Rights
#Commitment & Rewards *Term: 2- or 3-year appointments. *Meetings: Quarterly hybrid sessions (Canberra/Online), 10 am – 3 pm. *Remuneration: $150 per session. *Culture: Join an organization defined by Integrity, Collaboration, and Innovation.
#Eligibility & Diversity
To maintain professional distance, applicants must not have received ADACAS advocacy services within the last five years. ADACAS is committed to shifting systems, so people are better supported. We strongly encourage expressions of interest from First Nations Australians, people from CALD backgrounds, and the LGBTIQA+ community.
#Reasonable Adjustments & Accessibility
ADACAS is committed to providing an inclusive recruitment process and working environment. Reasonable adjustments are available for all candidates. If you require specific supports to participate in the application or interview process (such as Auslan interpretation, materials in alternative formats, or specific digital accessibility needs), please outline these in your application or contact us directly. We will work with you to ensure your needs are met.
