Australind SES is seeking a dedicated Treasurer (Finance Officer) to oversee the Unit’s financial management and support effective administration. This important role helps ensure strong financial governance, transparency and sustainability, allowing the Unit to remain operationally ready to support the community during emergencies.The Treasurer works closely with the Unit Management Team to maintain accurate financial records, monitor budgets and provide regular financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial management of the Unit
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with financial procedures
  • Monitor Unit income and expenditure against approved budgets
  • Provide financial advice and reporting to the Unit Management Team
  • Support strong financial governance and transparency within the Unit

Key Tasks

  • Maintain and oversee bookkeeping for Unit funds
  • Reconcile bank accounts and financial records
  • Prepare monthly Treasurer’s reports for Unit meetings
  • Monitor income and expenditure and track budget performance
  • Create and manage invoices and payments, ensuring timely follow-up
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and filing systems
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and audit documentation
  • Submit annual requests for the Local Government Grants Scheme (LGGS)
  • Maintain records relating to Unit memberships and training (where required)
  • Assist with general Unit administration when needed
  • Support community engagement and fundraising activities
