As a Weekend Carer, you will welcome a dog into your home for a weekend so they can take a break from their training routine and engage in a relaxed home environment. Your role is to provide opportunity for the dog to play, exercise and rest.

Key responsibilities • Following instructions for good toileting, feeding, sleeping, and walking routines • Ensure the dog’s safety by keeping the dog under supervision. • Provide a warm and safe space inside where the dog can rest and sleep (not on human furniture such as beds or sofas) • Transport dog to and from the training site (Orchard Hills or Waterfall) • Transport the puppy to one of our approved local vets as required

Other requirements • Complete a reference and background check including a police check, working with children check (as required) and maintain compliance throughout your period of volunteering
• Complete an interview and property inspection • Own transport • Access to a secure, fenced backyard, or a suitable outdoor area for toileting • Be physically fit enough to walk and restrain a dog • Be aged 18 or above

Prior dog experience is not essential — just a willingness to learn and follow guidance.

Training provided We support you every step of the way. Volunteers receive: • Comprehensive Volunteer Induction • Ongoing one-on-one coaching from Professional training staff
