WesleyCare Wynnum Services are a Specialist Disability Accommodation Community that makes a difference to the lives of adults with complex and high support needs. We're seeking energetic, hands-on individuals who love engaging with others and supporting a variety of enjoyable, purposeful activities.

In this role, you'll build positive rapport and strong relationships with residents, the team, and other volunteers, helping create a warm and inclusive environment. You'll also have the opportunity to share your own special talents or interests during designated visits, adding your personal touch and helping make each session extra special.

Share Your Time Volunteers enrich residents lives by:

  • Scheduling daily programs.
  • Playing games with residents, including card games, puzzles, and bingo.
  • Arts and crafts.
  • Gardening.
  • One-on-one time having conversations with residents and encouraging their participation.
  • Sharing your special talent.
  • Communicating resident feedback back to staff to assist in improving both the activity and resident enjoyment.

Volunteering hours available for this role are Thursdays in the morning: 10.30am to 12.30pm or in the afternoon: 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.

Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
