Connection & Laundry Volunteer

Orange Sky Australia positively connects people experiencing homelessness through free laundry, showers and conversation.

Join us in our mission to Positively Connect Communities. We don't have all the answers to homelessness, but what we can provide is free clean laundry and genuine conversation to those doing it tough.

As an Orange Sky (OS) volunteer, you will greet our friends with an awesome group of volunteers to provide safe and reliable free laundry and engage in genuine and positive conversations with friends, service providers and other volunteers. This is a great opportunity to get involved with your local community and make a practical difference in people’s lives.

Volunteer duties include:

• Engaging in non-judgemental and genuine conversations with all friends, volunteers, service providers and members of the public.
• Providing a safe and reliable access to laundry facilities, including loading and unloading machines, and carrying washing baskets of clothing.
• Assisting with the unpacking and packing the van, including chairs, washing baskets, trip guards, and other equipment.

We are also looking for volunteers to drive our van to and from shifts, and fuel up with diesel when required. This element isn't mandatory but if this too is of interest, we'd love to hear from you.

For this role, we are seeking volunteers to help make a difference 2 - 3 hours each fortnight.
