Humanities or History Volunteer tutor Wanted – Wesley School for Seniors

We are seeking a volunteer tutor to lead a Humanities or History course—someone who can inspire seniors through engaging conversation, stimulating content, and reflective learning.

What You'll Bring

• Love of Ideas: You’re genuinely interested in subjects such as world history, ancient and modern civilizations, philosophy, culture, ethics, or human society. You enjoy unpacking big questions, exploring diverse viewpoints, and helping others understand the world more deeply.
• Background in Related Fields: Experience or study in Humanities, History, Philosophy, Liberal Arts, or similar disciplines.
• Conceptual Understanding: Ability to guide learners through themes such as significant historical events, major thinkers, cultural developments, and human behaviour.
• Clear Communication: You explain complex topics in simple, engaging language. You guide conversations that encourage participation and welcome diverse perspectives.
• Supportive Atmosphere: You foster a warm, respectful environment where learners feel valued and inspired.

As a volunteer tutor, you’re committed to conduct:

• weekly sessions lasting 1 hour
• anytime between 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday. (subject to room availability)
• Term 2 commences on Monday 20 April – Friday 3 July 2026
• open for discussion for online class

Our school is conveniently situated in Sydney’s CBD, in close proximity to Town Hall or St James station.
