As a Latrobe Visitor Information Centre Volunteer supporting the Latrobe and Port Sorell areas, you will play an important role in welcoming visitors and showcasing the region’s unique attractions and experiences. Spanning from the heritage streets of Latrobe to the relaxed coastal community of Port Sorell & Shearwater, this region offers a diverse and memorable visitor experience.

In this role, you will greet visitors and provide accurate, up-to-date information about local attractions, events, accommodation, dining options, and travel routes. You will take the time to understand each visitor’s needs and offer tailored recommendations to help them make the most of their visit.

Volunteers are also involved in the day-to-day operations of the centre. This includes assisting with retail sales, maintaining well-presented displays and sharing knowledge of the local area tailored to the visitors' needs. You will help ensure the centre remains a welcoming, organised, and informative space for all visitors.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a willingness to learn about the region’s tourism offerings. Volunteers should be comfortable using basic computer systems, handling transactions, and working as part of a supportive team environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy engaging with people from diverse backgrounds, have a passion for tourism and their local community, and take pride in representing Latrobe and Shearwater as welcoming and vibrant destinations.
