Volunteer counsellor

We are seeking qualified, accredited, and experienced Counsellors and Psychologists to volunteer 4 hours (one shift) per week to support the Sunlight Centre’s service of providing free crisis counselling to Under 18s and Adults. Volunteers will provide face-to-face, one-on-one therapy sessions for clients in crisis, following the Sunlight Centre Therapy Model as well as their own counselling skills at our Centre in Morningside. Those interested may also contribute to group support programs, psycho-education workshops, and community outreach initiatives. Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate client records through Sunlight's Client Management System
- Participating in Supervision

Qualifications Needed
- Relevant Degree in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work
- Relevant Diploma and professional experieince in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work
- Be currently Accredited / Registered with relevant professional bodies
- More than 2 years accredited experience as a Counsellor
- Proficiency in psycho-education and research based therapies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and case files
Qualifications Prefered
- Experience working in crisis intervention
- Experience working with diverse populations
