Detailed Description KD Foundation is seeking a compassionate and organised Volunteer Coordinator to support our outreach efforts by liaising with hospitals and identifying patients who may benefit from respite care at our Glenorie property. This role is essential in connecting individuals in need with safe, supportive accommodation and care services.

Key Duties

Contact hospitals, discharge planners, and social workers to gather information on patients requiring respite care Build and maintain professional relationships with hospital staff and healthcare providers Identify suitable patients who may benefit from KD Foundation’s respite care services Record and manage patient information in a confidential and organised manner Communicate relevant details to the KD Foundation team for follow-up and coordination Provide general information about KD Foundation’s Glenorie property and available support services Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient referrals where required

Skills and Experience

Strong communication skills, particularly over the phone Confidence in speaking with healthcare professionals in a professional manner Good organisational and record-keeping abilities Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets or CRM systems) High level of empathy, discretion, and respect for confidentiality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous experience in administration, healthcare, or community services (desirable but not essential)
