Do you enjoy gardening, spending time outdoors and sharing friendly conversation?

We are seeking a friendly and caring volunteer to assist residents to enjoy the outdoor areas at our aged care home in Kelmscott. This role is about companionship, connection and supporting residents to spend time in a relaxed garden setting.

In this rewarding role, you will spend time with residents in the indoor courtyard areas, helping them take part in simple gardening activities such as watering, light weeding and talking about their passion for plants, flowers and the outdoors.

Residents may also enjoy sitting and relaxing with you in the indoor court area, sharing conversation, memories and stories connected to gardening and nature.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Enjoys spending time with older people and has a genuine interest in their wellbeing.
  • Likes gardening, nature or outdoor spaces.
  • Can support residents with light gardening activities such as watering and weeding.
  • Is patient, reliable, friendly and respectful.
  • Enjoys conversation and helping residents feel connected and included.

This is not a gardening maintenance role. It is a social support role that encourages residents to enjoy the outdoors, participate in gentle gardening activities and connect through shared interests.

If you have any questions, please call our Volunteer Lead on 0436 936 444.
