Event Waste Collection Team Member

With shifts averaging around four hours, volunteering is a great way to contribute while still enjoying the event, volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the remainder of the event after their shift, and those on later shifts can often arrive early and soak up the atmosphere before getting started.
This role involves being active around the venue and contributing to a positive experience for competitors, crews, officials, and spectators.
Key Responsibilities • Monitor and empty waste and recycling bins across key areas including pit lanes, paddock areas, spectator zones, and amenities • Transport wheelie bins to designated disposal and recycling points • Safely empty bins into larger waste collection units • Replace bin liners as required • Return bins promptly to their original locations • Help maintain a clean and hazard-free environment, particularly in high-traffic and pit areas • Report any issues such as overflowing bins, spills, or potential hazards to the team leader
Safety Considerations • Follow all event safety guidelines, particularly in pit and vehicle movement areas • Stay alert to moving karts, service vehicles, and equipment • Use provided personal protective equipment (e.g. gloves) • Report hazards immediately
