Event Volunteer Canteen Assistant

With shifts averaging around four hours, volunteering is a great way to contribute while still enjoying the event, volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the remainder of the event after their shift, and those on later shifts can often arrive early and soak up the atmosphere before getting started.
This role is essential in providing a positive experience for participants and spectators through friendly service and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness:
• Prepare and handle food in accordance with food safety standards • Serve food and beverages to customers • Take and process customer orders • Handle basic transactions (cash and EFTPOS) • Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and serving areas • Restock fridges and supplies as required • Wash dishes and assist with general kitchen duties • Assist with canteen setup and pack-down where required

Workplace Health & Safety • Follow all safety instructions provided during induction • Be aware of the emergency muster point location • Familiarise yourself with the location of fire extinguishers and fire blankets
