Join the friendly Townsville Kart Club community and help keep the action running smoothly as a Kart Retrieval Team Member. You'll be part of a family-friendly atmosphere where parents, kids, grandparents, and volunteers all come together to make race weekends unforgettable.
With shifts averaging around four hours, volunteering is a great way to contribute while still enjoying the event, volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the remainder of the event after their shift, and those on later shifts can often arrive early and soak up the atmosphere before getting started.
The Kart Retrieval Team supports race officials by safely and efficiently retrieving karts from the track during incidents, mechanical failures, or race stoppages. This role is essential in maintaining safety standards and ensuring events run smoothly with minimal delays.
Location: Trackside (Race Events) Reports To: Race Officials / Track Marshals
Key Responsibilities • Operate an ATV and tow a kart retrieval trailer (where trained and authorised) • Retrieve karts from the track safely following incidents or stoppages • Work under the direction of track marshals and race officials at all times • Assist in moving karts to designated safe areas • Maintain awareness of track conditions and safety procedures • Respond promptly and calmly to on-track incidents • Support the overall efficiency and flow of race events
