Advertised by Volunteer Melville!Volunteers assist with group activities, program set up and pack down, family day programs, and community events across the Perth metro area. No experience is required—just a kind heart and willingness to support children and families.
Lionheart is a not-for-profit organisation based in Western Australia, supporting children and families navigating grief and loss. Through weekend camps and community programs, we offer connection, peer support, and opportunities for children, teens, and families to build confidence and resilience in a safe, understanding environment.
We rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to help deliver these programs. Volunteers support children, teens and adults through group activities, have side-by-side conversations, assist with set-up and pack-down, and help create a positive and inclusive space for all participants. There are also opportunities for behind-the-scenes support with admin or event preparation. No prior experience is required—just a kind heart and a willingness to engage, listen, and support young people.
Programs and events are held in the Perth metro area, including weekend camps (predominantly held within the City of Melville) and annual events like Children’s Grief Awareness Day and fundraising events. Volunteers attend a half day New Volunteer Induction and complete on boarding requirements. Camp roles involve a full weekend commitment (no overnights), with key dates provided in advance. Community events vary in duration and frequency. We welcome volunteers who can commit to at least one camp or event per year.
