Volunteer Office Assistant

Bike SA is the peak body for recreational cycling in South Australia, delivering events, tours, and community programs that connect people and encourage active lifestyles.
We’re looking for an Office Assistant Volunteer to join our team and play a key role in keeping our office running smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a regular routine, takes pride in a well-organised space, and values being part of a friendly, community-focused environment.
Well suited to someone recently retired or looking to stay active and connected, this role offers a great balance of purpose, structure, and social interaction. You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, members, and volunteers, helping create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the Bike SA office.
What you’ll be doing:
Answering phone calls and directing enquiries Monitoring and forwarding emails Keeping the office tidy, stocked, and organised (including kitchen and shared spaces) Supporting general admin tasks Assisting with coordination between staff and volunteers You’ll also work alongside our in-house bike maintenance volunteers and office team, contributing to the strong sense of camaraderie that Bike SA is known for.
What we’re looking for:
Friendly, approachable, and enjoys chatting with people Reliable and able to commit to regular flexible weekday hours (9am–2pm) Organised with good attention to detail Comfortable with basic admin tasks (phones and emails) Takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment A team player who enjoys being part of a community
Bonus (but not essential):
Interest in cycling or familiarity with local bike trails
