The Be Hers Mentoring Program provides a safe haven, opportunities, and the essential skills needed to be a beacon of hope for multicultural and at-risk women who have been robbed of their freedom and dignity. Through unwavering support, skills development, and mentorship, we empower women to rebuild confidence, develop practical capabilities, and work toward meaningful and sustainable employment.

As part of this program, we are currently seeking Mentors and Assistants to support our sewing workshops and sewing sessions, held Thursdays or Fridays between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. These sessions focus on practical, hands-on learning in a supportive environment.

We are looking for people with skills in domestic sewing machines, textiles, garment construction, and general sewing techniques to help guide and support participants as they develop vocational skills.

Mentors and assistants provide encouragement, demonstrate techniques, assist with hands-on learning, and help create a safe, welcoming, and empowering workshop space.

Mentor / Assistant Responsibilities: Support participants during sewing workshops and guided activities Demonstrate and assist with the use of domestic sewing machines Provide basic instruction in textiles, sewing techniques, and garment-making skills Encourage confidence, independence, and skill development Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment Work collaboratively with program coordinators and other volunteers
