Volunteer: Social Outings Assistant

Do you enjoy getting out and about, meeting new people and helping others stay connected to their community? We’re looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to join our team as a Social Outing Assistant.

Our social outings help older people and people living with disability enjoy day trips, events, scenic drives and group activities across Sydney. As a Social Outings Assistant, you’ll play a key role in making these days safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

What you’ll do • Assist clients to safely get on and off the bus • Provide friendly conversation and social support throughout the day • Help the driver with headcounts and general coordination • Support clients during outings (cafés, attractions, shopping centres, events) • Help create a warm, inclusive and fun group atmosphere

About you • Patient, friendly and enjoy chatting with people • Comfortable assisting older people or people with mobility challenges • Reliable and able to commit to occasional weekday outings • Happy to be part of a supportive team • No experience necessary — just a positive attitude!
