Turn Compassion Into Action – Join Our Food Pantry Team

Every day, people in our community face tough choices — between food, bills, and everyday essentials. At Uniting Norlane, we believe no one should face these moments alone.

Our Emergency Relief service provides practical, immediate support — from food pantry access to material aid — in a welcoming, respectful and non-judgmental environment and behind every parcel packed and every conversation shared; there’s a volunteer making it happen.

As a volunteer, you’ll be part of a team that turns compassion into action.

You might be:

• Helping sort and organise food deliveries

• Packing pantry items and essential supplies

• Welcoming community members with warmth and respect

• Supporting a safe, inclusive and dignified service environment

• Monitor stock levels and assist in creating replenishment lists

No two days are the same — but every shift creates real impact.

You don’t need prior experience — just a positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others. In return, you’ll gain valuable experience, build connections, and be part of a supportive team working towards stronger, more connected communities.

At Uniting, we don’t just provide relief — we create pathways forward. Whether it’s a conversation that restores confidence or a food parcel that eases immediate stress, your time helps people take their next step.

If you have a few hours to give and want to make a meaningful difference close to home, we’d love to hear from you. Step forward. Stand alongside your community. Be there when it matters most.

Volunteer with Uniting Vic.Tas – Be Part of Real Community Impact

For more than 100 years, Uniting Vic.Tas has worked alongside communities across Victoria and Tasmania to create meaningful, lasting change.

Each year, we support thousands of people to build safer, stronger, and more connected lives. From helping children and young people thrive, to supporting families through challenging times, our work is grounded in practical outcomes that make a difference every day.

We walk alongside people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or addiction, helping them access the support they need to move forward. We empower older people to maintain independence, support people with disability to live life on their terms, and create pathways for learning, employment, and social connection. We also stand with asylum seekers, ensuring they feel welcomed, supported, and part of the community.

Why volunteer with us?

As a volunteer, you play a direct role in these outcomes. Whether it’s offering companionship, sharing skills, or supporting programs, your contribution helps create real change in people’s lives and strengthens the communities we all share.

Volunteering with Uniting is more than giving your time — it’s being part of something that matters.

Uniting is a child safe organisation and is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, at all times. As a ‘child safe’ organisation, employment with Uniting is subject to a satisfactory national (and international where relevant) police check and relevant Working with Children Check in your State prior to commencement of any paid or unpaid work and/or participation in any service or undertaking.

Uniting is also committed to equal opportunity and ensuring the workplace is reflective of the community. We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with a disability.
