Event Description: 🌳 It's that time of the year again where we plant for National Tree Day, and 200 lovely native plants are waiting to be put in the ground! Once established, these native groundcovers, trees and shrubs will provide food and shelter for wildlife, contribute to biodiversity, and turn a neglected site around to be a haven for nature.
If you haven't planted with us before, you are in for a treat - it's so rewarding and fun to plant, and it won't just put a smile on your face, it helps the environment and our beautiful timtumili minanya/Derwent River.
👖Please ensure you wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, a hat and fully enclosed shoes. Please also bring your own drinking water.
❔If you have any questions about this event, or if you'd like to register a group of volunteers, please message Janine on [email protected].
📖The word 'timtumili minanya' is palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines’. Learn more on the SETAC website, or download SETAC's brand-new palawa kani app.
