Are you an experienced female Carer and can spend time with a lady in Balwyn?

MiCare are looking for a female volunteer that can share a smile and companionship during weekly friendly visits to a lovely lady living in Balwyn. Prior experience with mental health ideal.

She used to be a scientist and travelled the world. If you are free to visit her on a regular basis - once a week (weekday or weekend) that would be great.

Volunteering brings fun and fulfilment to your life and makes a huge difference to those in the community seeking companionship. We are looking for a male volunteer that has worked as a social worker or corrections officer, is a history buff and likes to chat.

This program is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) - an Australian Government initiative. We ask volunteers to commit to weekly visits for at least 6 months, however this is an ongoing role and we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible.

Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers.
