Research Advisory Group Member (Lived Experience)

We are inviting people with lived experience to join a Research Advisory Group. Members will help guide a research project about reproductive coercion and abuse (RCA) affecting women from migrant and refugee communities. If you join the group, you will:

  • Attend up to three online meetings per year (about 1 hour each)
  • Share your views and feedback on project ideas and materials
  • Help make sure the research is respectful, culturally safe and relevant
  • This is a 3-year voluntary role.
  • You will not be required to share personal experiences, but your lived experience will help shape the work.

Eligibility

  • 18 years or older women
  • identify themselves as a member of a migrant or refugee community
  • support women’s right to make their own reproductive decisions including abortion, adoption, kin-ship care, not having children, use of contraception, and the timing and number of children (pro-choice)
  • have lived experience of being pressured, controlled, threatened or harmed in relation to pregnancy, contraception or reproductive decisions
  • can attend online meetings (Up to 3 meetings per year, about 1 hour each)
  • Have or willing to apply for a Working with Children Check (WWCC) in Victoria
