Social Volunteer Visitor for Veteran in Aged Care - Wyoming

Jack is 80 years old and resides in an Aged Care Facility in Wyoming on the NSW Central Coast. He would love to have a weekly or fortnightly visit from a volunteer who can bring a bit of the world to him. Reminiscing about his childhood growing up in rural NSW, and sharing stories of his military experience in the air force will offer Jack a valuable connection and help make his day a little brighter.
Jack enjoys sailing, military history, general trivia and reading crime fiction.
Are you a kind and caring person with some life experience who can commit to regular visits with Jack? Availability to visit weekly or fortnightly for around an hour per visit is required.
Visits are purely for social reasons (no running errands, transporting to medical appointments, or personal care duties) and occur on a regular ongoing basis. Time can be spent doing activities you both enjoy - take a trip down memory lane looking at old photos, enjoy time reminiscing and sharing stories.
It's all about connection, companionship and community.
Volunteer Visitors require patience and reliability...and above all, a heart for older people. You will be supported in your role by a Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteers undergo a police check (at no charge to you) and complete a short online training program before commencing their volunteering role.
Please register your interest today and a Coordinator will be in touch with more information about the next steps.
