Highbury Community Learning and Wellbeing Inc. is a community-managed, non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering community connection, multicultural inclusion, and lifelong learning. We provide a diverse range of programs, workshops, and activities that offer a welcoming space for all community members to contribute, participate, and support one another.

Are you enthusiastic, committed, and passionate about helping children learn, grow, and build confidence? We are looking for 2 to 3 dedicated volunteers to join our exciting Homework & Play Club! Our club supports primary school children in the local community through a fun, alternating weekly program designed to keep young minds engaged during after-school hours:

• Week A - Homework Club: Support students with their schoolwork, read with them, and help strengthen their literacy and numeracy skills in a safe, encouraging environment.

• Week B - LEGO & Board Games Club: Supervise and facilitate creative LEGO building and engaging board games, helping children develop teamwork, problem-solving, and social skills through play.

Key Responsibilities: Guide and assist primary school students with their homework and reading.

Supervise and run games or creative activities (LEGO and board games), ensuring a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.

Parent Engagement (Optional): We highly value community connection. If you have a passion for education or parenting practices, you are most welcome to chat and share educational insights, tips, or experiences with parents on-site, helping us build a supportive network for local families.

Who We Are Looking For: Individuals with a genuine interest in education, youth work, community development, or parenting.

Patient, friendly, and approachable people who enjoy interacting with children and their families.

A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required (we can assist you with the free volunteer application process if needed).

What We Offer: We provide training opportunities, ongoing support, and a warm, inclusive, and friendly working environment where your time, skills, and passion will be highly valued. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the local community, gain hands-on experience in community education, and make a real difference in a child's learning journey.

How to Apply: If you are interested in joining us, please contact [email protected] and please state your availability in your email.
