Volunteering with the Australian Army Cadets, you are more than just a supervisor; you are a mentor, a leader, and a role model. Your involvement directly impacts the ability of young Australians to find their confidence and achieve their potential within their own communities.

As a Defence Approved Helper (DAH) you will support the Army Cadet Unit with Administration and Logistics. This could be assisting with the online administration of cadets, in the management of stores and equipment or assistance with food management and preparation. Some DAHs with specific skills may assist with the development and delivery of military like training to cadets.

Defence Approved Helper (DAH) assist at Army Cadet Units without supervision responsibilities. DAHs do not wear a uniform, but provide vital support under the supervision of qualified staff.

After gaining some experience, and where a postion is available, some Defence Approved Helpers may request to be accepted as Army Cadet Staff (ACS).

ACS are trained to manage and operate the program, wear the AAC uniform and rank.

Volunteers with previous military experience (ADF and overseas) are welcomed however this experience is not essential. We welcome all contributions.
