Join our team as a Community Food Support Person and play a vital role in reducing food waste while supporting local families in need. This hands-on volunteer opportunity involves collecting, sorting, and preparing donated food items for distribution, helping ensure people in our community have access to fresh, quality food. You’ll be part of a supportive, community-focused team making a meaningful difference.

What you'll do:

You will be part of a roster of community members who help on Thursday evenings and Friday mornings (and other times, if you have the time)

• THURSDAY EVENING TASK:

• Coordinate with a generous local bakery, drive to and collect donated bread and rolls from the bakery.

• Sort and pack items into bags or containers (provided).

• Assist with loading your vehicle for bread delivery to Hudson Road Family Centre the next morning.

• FRIDAY MORNING TASK:

• Drive bakery items to Hudson Road Family Centre and help unload.

• If you have time.....help our team with baqging up and preparing items for sharing with the community.

About you

You'll be someone who is:

• Reliable and punctual

• Positive and community-minded You will hold a driver's licence and have access to a car large enough to carry containers ( a medium sized sedan or wagon).
