Veterans as Story Contributors & Community Ambassadors (Bridging Histories Project, Caroline Springs VIC 3023)

Share your story. Inspire understanding. Build connections. We respectfully invite/request veterans to become part of an important initiative connecting Australia’s veteran history with refugee and culturally diverse communities throughout Victoria. As a Veteran Volunteer / Story Contributor, you will help preserve and share lived experiences while fostering understanding, respect, and social connection across cultures. Your participation will give community members the opportunity to hear directly from veterans, creating meaningful dialogue and ensuring these stories become part of a shared Australian experience.

What you’ll do:

• • Participate as guest speakers during workshops and storytelling sessions.
• • Share personal experiences, reflections, and service stories in culturally safe environments.
• • Join community exhibitions, memorial visits, and engagement events.
• • Support intercultural conversations with refugees and CALD participants.
• • Help strengthen understanding of service, resilience, sacrifice, and community.

Who we’re looking for:

• • Veterans from any service background willing to engage with diverse communities.
• • Individuals comfortable sharing experiences in respectful community settings.
• • Veterans interested in education, mentoring, community engagement, and preserving history.
• • No previous public speaking experience required — support will be provided.
