We are currently seeking a friendly and engaging Volunteer Visitor (aged 18 and over) to provide companionship to an older Egyptian gentleman who speaks both Arabic and English. This rewarding role requires patience, compassion, and reliability. No prior experience is necessary—just warmth, dependability, and a genuine interest in connecting with others.

Our older person has a Diploma in Commerce and worked for an electricity company for 30 years. He enjoys playing dominoes, cards, and backgammon, and would value the opportunity to share conversation and companionship with someone who enjoys table games and social connection.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a government-funded program designed to reduce social isolation and foster meaningful social connections for older people.

As a Volunteer Visitor, you will spend time with an older person on a regular basis—ideally weekly, or at minimum fortnightly—building a genuine friendship through shared activities and conversation.

Volunteering in this role can be incredibly rewarding for both you and the person you visit. Regular companionship has been shown to improve quality of life and reduce feelings of loneliness. Your time and presence can bring great joy and connection.

All volunteers are required to complete a National Police Check and will receive ongoing support and training from an ACVVS Program Coordinator.
