Our Wig and Headwear Service aims to assist individuals with the side-effects of hair loss as a result of their cancer treatment. You will be providing people with the information that they need about the service, styling and fitting wigs and where appropriate giving people the opportunity to talk about their experiences and concerns. We’re looking for people who have empathy, strong listening skills and the ability to refer complex issues.

We are looking for volunteers who:

  • Work well with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and listening skills and an ability to empathise.
  • Displays interpersonal warmth, sensitivity and flexibility
  • Possesses a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Demonstrates reliability and dependability.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality

Experience as hairdresser or experience in wig and headwear fitting is highly regarded but not essential.
