Administration Volunteer (Regional)

CCQ is looking for volunteers who will support the regional offices by assisting with the completion of clerical and general administration duties. The primary goal is to enable the local office to operate efficiently and effectively to support the community

Key Responsibilities and daily activities may include:

  • Managing general enquiries and directing individuals to appropriate staff as required.
  • Accept and receive donations on behalf of Cancer Council Queensland
  • Support the team to respond to inbound enquiries, including event registrations and walk‑ins
  • Provide general administrative support to assist with the delivery of Cancer Council Queensland programs and services.
  • Assist the team in supporting lodge residents through approved services, activities, and events, as requested and within role scope.
  • maintain a hygienic, safe, and orderly environment in line with Work Health and Safety requirements.
  • Check guest rooms prior to client check‑in to ensure they meet required standards, reporting any maintenance or cleanliness issues to staff.
  • Ensure reception and lodge resources, information, and displays are current, accessible, and well maintained

We are looking for volunteers who are:

  • Friendly and respectful customer service skills, with the ability to engage positively with a diverse range of people.
  • Able to organise tasks, follow instructions, and communicate clearly with team members and visitors.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with appropriate direction and support.
  • Shows reliability, responsibility, and maturity in a professional setting.
  • Basic computer and digital literacy, with a willingness to learn and use systems relevant to the role (e.g. email, data entry, simple databases).
  • Comfortable following established procedures, including money‑handling processes (experience desirable but not essential).
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and develop skills with training and support provided.
  • Understands and respects privacy and confidentiality and is willing to follow CCQ procedures and ask for guidance when unsure.
