As a volunteer handyperson, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the shop by assisting with basic furniture repairs, furniture assembly, and moving items safely within the store.

We are currently seeking volunteers available on Wednesday mornings from 8am–12pm. This role would suit someone practical, reliable, and confident using basic hand tools, who enjoys staying active and helping the community.

Tasks may include:

• Basic furniture repairs and touch-ups • Assembling donated furniture • Moving and rearranging furniture within the store • Assisting with keeping the work area safe and organised • Supporting the team with general maintenance tasks as required

The volunteers we are seeking will ideally:

• Be practical and hands-on • Be physically capable of lifting and moving furniture safely • Be reliable and able to work independently when required • Have a positive and helpful attitude • Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society QLD • Be respectful to others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team
