Girl Guides Victoria empowers girls and young women to build confidence, leadership, resilience, and life skills through fun and engaging programs. Supported by passionate volunteers, Girl Guides provides inclusive and welcoming environments where girls can develop friendships, try new experiences, and make a positive impact in their communities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Unit Helper, you’ll be part of a local Girl Guide Unit supporting the delivery of a fun, inclusive, and high-quality program for girls aged 6 to 15. You’ll attend weekly meetings and help run activities, support the leadership team, and contribute your ideas and skills. This is a flexible, team-based role where you can get involved in a way that suits you.
- Location: Wonthaggi, 3995, VIC
- Time: Weekly during school term — Tuesdays, 4.30pm - 6.30pm
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support the Unit leadership team to deliver weekly meetings
- Help plan and run fun and engaging activities
- Encourage girls to build confidence and try new things
- Contribute ideas and skills to support the program
- Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Follow Girl Guides Australia and Girl Guides Victoria Policies and Procedures, including the GGA Code of Conduct
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Reliable and able to commit regularly
- Enjoys working with young people
- Works well in a team
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Willingness to complete required training and checks
*Guiding experience is not required — we’ll support you every step of the way. *

REQUIREMENTS
- Brief informal interview
- Working With Children Check (VIC)
- National Police Check
- Provision of two character references
- Completion of Girl Guides Victoria training
