Make Mondays or Tuesdays Meaningful – Visit and Connect with a Senior Near Colac

The Role: In your volunteer role, you will be paired with an older person to provide regular social support visits in their home. Activities are guided by your shared interests and may include friendly conversation, playing games, listening to music, or simply enjoying a cuppa together. This is a wonderful opportunity to build a genuine connection while making a positive difference in your community.

Our Client: You’ll be visiting a warm and welcoming gentleman in his early 80s who lives at home in Elliminyt, just outside Colac. He has been married for over 60 years and brings a lifetime of stories, experiences, and gentle humour to every conversation. He enjoys the simple pleasure of sitting down with a coffee and having a good chat. He’s looking for someone friendly and easygoing to visit once a week—either Monday or Tuesday mornings—for around two hours. Your visits will offer companionship, connection, and something meaningful to look forward to each week.

About You:

  • Lives in and around Elliminyt or happy to travel.
  • Possess clear communication skills
  • Compassionate, patient and an excellent listener
  • Passionate about giving back to your community
  • Conducts yourself with open-mindedness and respect, ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of our clients is always maintained
  • Comfortable using technology to provide feedback and connect with the Volunteer Program
  • Availability for a flexible six-month commitment
