Volunteer Photographer for Community Tree Planting Event (July 26)
Conservation Volunteers Australia
Over four weeks away
We’re looking for a friendly volunteer photographer to help us capture the spirit of a community National Tree Day planting at Athelstone Recreational Reserve on Sunday July 26th, 2026.
Working alongside Campbelltown City Council, Chevron Australia, our staff, and local volunteers, we’re on a mission to plant 7,000 trees this year - adding to the 7,000 trees we successfully planted last year. It’s a fantastic community day filled with teamwork and environmental action and one of our favourite days of the year!
While our staff are busy coordinating volunteers and overseeing the planting activities, we’d love someone who can move around the event capturing natural, genuine moments throughout the day. Your photos will help us share the impact of the work we do and celebrate the amazing people who make these events possible.
Key Duties
- Take photos throughout the event to capture the atmosphere and community spirit
- Photograph volunteers planting trees, working together, and enjoying the day
- Capture a mix of candid moments, group shots, and wider event photos
- Provide photos after the event for use in our communications and promotions
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience photographing community events, volunteer activities, or similar events would be fantastic, but isn’t essential We’re mainly looking for someone friendly, approachable, and comfortable connecting with people.
- You don’t need to be a professional photographer or have expensive equipment. Even a newer model phone camera would work well.
- An eye for capturing genuine moments and positive community interactions is most important.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a community event environment.
What You’ll Need
- Your own camera or phone for taking photos
- Your own transport to and from the event
- Comfortable outdoor clothing and enclosed shoes
What You’ll Get
-
Photo credit whenever your images are used
-
A certificate of appreciation to recognise your contribution
-
A chance to meet native Australian wildlife at the wildlife display
-
Unlimited serves at the sausage sizzle BBQ lunch station to keep you going!
This is a great opportunity to support a meaningful environmental project, meet like-minded people, and help tell the story of a community coming together to make a difference.
