BETTER (Building East Timor Through Education/Resources) is an Australian registered charity whose aspiration is to set a new national education standard in East Timor. By 2030, children across East Timor will have access to a BETTER education and our mission is to give East Timor a hand up through revolutionary education, not a hand out.
The role: BETTER is actively seeking a Company Secretary, to join the Board, whose main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining the statutory registers including the register of members.
- Ensuring that statutory forms are filled promptly.
- Providing members and auditors with notice of meetings.
- Sending Companies House information about appointment or registration of Directors.
- Sending a copy of the accounts to every member of the director’s meetings and general meetings.
- Ensuring that people entitled to do so can inspect company records.
- Custody and use of the company seal.
For the right candidate, this voluntary opportunity has great potential to gain further exposure as well as taking the lead on their own projects.
About you: As well as having a passion for making a positive impact in the world, the ideal candidate will have experience as a Company Secretary, previous Board experience and a great network they are willing to share.
