Vic Park Community Centre (VPCC) is seeking a skilled and community-minded Board Treasurer to support the financial governance and sustainability of our organisation. As Board Treasurer, you will work closely with the Board and Centre Manager to provide financial oversight, support informed decision-making and help ensure VPCC remains financially sustainable for years to come.

The Opportunity

The Board Treasurer plays a key governance role in supporting the financial health and accountability of the organisation.

Working collaboratively with fellow Board members and the Centre Manager, you will help oversee financial reporting, support sound financial management practices and contribute to strategic planning and organisational sustainability.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, business or governance who is passionate about making a positive difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide financial oversight and advice to the Board
• Review and present financial reports
• Support Board understanding of financial performance
• Monitor budgets, cash flow and financial risks
• Assist with budgeting and financial planning
• Help maintain appropriate financial policies and controls
• Support compliance with financial and regulatory obligations
• Liaise with auditors and assist with annual reporting
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making
• Support compliance with relevant legislation and governance standards

Skills and Experience

We welcome expressions of interest from people with:

• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, business management or financial governance
• Previous Board or Treasurer experience (desirable but not essential)
• Ability to interpret and communicate financial information clearly
• Understanding of budgeting, financial reporting and risk management
• Strategic thinking and sound decision-making skills
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
• Commitment to ethical leadership and accountability

Professional qualifications or experience in accounting, finance, auditing, business or governance will be highly regarded.

Time Commitment

• Quarterly Board meetings
