Vic Park Community Centre (VPCC) is seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Board and help guide the future of our organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your skills, experience and ideas to a vibrant community organisation that creates connection, belonging and positive social impact across East Victoria Park and beyond.

As a Board Member, you will work collaboratively with fellow Board members and the Centre Manager to provide strategic direction, support good governance and help ensure VPCC continues to thrive and respond to community needs.

Vic Park Community Centre (VPCC) is a community-led not-for-profit organisation based in East Victoria Park, Western Australia.

The Opportunity

Board Members play an important role in providing governance, oversight and strategic leadership for the organisation.

Working alongside a diverse Board and leadership team, you will contribute to decision-making, support organisational sustainability and help ensure VPCC remains focused on its purpose, values and community impact.

We welcome people from a variety of professional and lived experience backgrounds who are passionate about strengthening communities and creating positive social outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in Board meetings
• Contribute to strategic planning and organisational direction
• Support effective governance and accountability
• Review organisational performance, opportunities and risks
• Participate in Board committees and/or working groups
• Help ensure compliance with relevant legislation and governance standards
• Act in the best interests of the organisation and community
• Advocate for VPCC and support positive community relationships
• Contribute skills, knowledge and networks to support organisational success

Skills and Experience

We welcome expressions of interest from people with experience in areas such as:

• Community development or community services
• Governance or Board leadership
• Finance, accounting or business management
• Human resources or organisational development
• Fundraising, partnerships or stakeholder engagement
• Marketing, communications or events
• Legal, risk management or compliance
• Education, training or social impact initiatives

You do not need previous Board experience to apply. We are looking for people who:

• Care about community wellbeing and social impact
• Think strategically and contribute constructively
• Work collaboratively and respectfully with others
• Demonstrate integrity, accountability and good judgement
• Are willing to learn and contribute their time and expertise

Time Commitment

• Quarterly Board meetings
• Participation in sub-committees or working groups as required
• Annual General Meeting attendance
• Occasional strategic planning sessions and community events

Requirements

• Commitment to VPCC's vision and values
• Willingness to undertake governance responsibilities
• Ability to prepare for and attend meetings
• National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check
