This volunteer opportunity will help patients, families, and staff find hope and comfort during challenging times. As a Pastoral Carer or Chaplain, you will provide a compassionate, non-judgmental presence through deep listening, emotional support, and meaningful conversation. You will also facilitate spiritual care, lead requested rituals or prayers, and connect individuals to vital community resources.

This role involves conducting general ward visitations and assisting with or attending chapel services and prayer groups. When specifically requested, you will facilitate rituals, sacraments, or spiritual practices, such as meditation or relaxation, that align with an individual's specific faith and heritage.

βοΈ Skills and experience important for this role include: -Effective Communication Skills: Ability to communicate respectfully and courteously with individuals from diverse backgrounds and the frail aged. -Empathetic Engagement: Ability to empathize and provide support by utilizing active listening and reflective skills.
- Formal theological qualification and/or Pastoral Care course or an equivalent.Β
π Training: Willingness to complete training relevant to the role, including:
- CARE Essentials Course (6 weeks, one evening per week, online training) overseen by an in-house Chaplain.
- CARE Matters Course with mentoring from an in-house Chaplain.
