Opportunity Description Green Thumb Farm is a community-led educational farm and nursery in Samford Valley, just 35 minutes from Brisbane CBD. We're a registered charity and certified social enterprise on a mission to demonstrate regenerative, chemical-free farming — and to reconnect our community with the land. We've built a thriving, beautiful farm over the past two and a half years, powered by the dedication of more than 50 wonderful local volunteers. What you'll be doing As a farm helper volunteer, your week might include planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, composting, and propagating seedlings. Tasks are varied and manageable, and you'll always work alongside a friendly, supportive team in a beautiful outdoor setting. Skills and experience No prior farming or gardening experience is needed — just a willingness to get outdoors, learn at your own pace, and enjoy being part of something special. We'll show you everything you need to know. Time commitment We ask for a regular weekly commitment of around 2–3 hours. Sessions run on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (8–11am) and Saturday mornings (6am–12pm). Simply choose the day that works best for you. What you'll gain
- Practical hands-on skills in regenerative and chemical-free growing
- A deeper understanding of food systems and sustainable agriculture
- Warm connection with a welcoming, like-minded community
- A regular reason to get outside, stay active, and feel purposeful
The impact you'll have Every hour you give helps us grow the fresh, chemical-free produce for our Educational Community Farm. You'll also be helping sustain the farm that welcomes school children, young families, and community members to learn where their food comes from — and why it matters.
