Debating SA is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to adjudicate debates in our Schools' Competition.

Adjudicators attend competition debates, assess performances against established criteria, provide constructive verbal feedback to students, and determine the outcome of each debate.

Previous adjudication experience is welcomed but not essential. Debating SA provides training, mentoring and resources to help volunteers develop the skills required for the role.

  • Support the development of young people across South Australia.
  • Gain experience in assessment, public speaking and communication.
  • Connect with a community of passionate educators, students and volunteers.
  • Access adjudicator training and professional development opportunities.

Time Commitment Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the school debating season, with adjudicators able to nominate their availability.

Volunteers must hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid Working with Children Check. An interest in education, debating, public speaking or youth development is desirable. Training and ongoing support will be provided.
