Volunteer Operations Manager

This is an unpaid volunteer leadership role, suited to an experienced leader who want to apply real-world management skills to something that matters. The role is fully remote and requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, spread flexibly across the week to suit your availability.
Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc. (LMA) is a registered NFP charity delivering vibrant multicultural markets, festivals, and community events across Victoria. Our work celebrates diversity and creativity. Every event we run flows back to supporting disadvantaged young people through our partner charity, Kinds of Happiness (KOH).

About the Role
As Volunteer Operations Manager, you will provide steady leadership keeping teams aligned, operations running smoothly, and our mission moving forward. You will work closely with team leaders across seven disciplines, each with multiple volunteers:
- Events
- Administration
- Finance
- People & Culture
- Social Media & Graphic Design
- Information & Technology
- Sponsorships & Grants
You will report directly to our Director and work closely with our team leaders to shape organisational direction.
You will be responsible for:
- Overseeing day-to-day operations across the full organisation
- Keeping operations organised, accountable, and aligned with strategic goals
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and team performance
- Fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-functioning volunteer culture
What We are Looking For
- 5 to 10 years experience in a leadership or management role
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and make confident, considered decisions
- Strong communication skills — clear, warm, and effective across all levels
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote, volunteer environment
- A genuine passion for community, culture, and social impact
