You will often be the first point of contact for guests, helping to set the tone for a respectful, inclusive, and compassionate experience. Your presence will help attendees feel at ease as they navigate what can be a sensitive and deeply personal topic. Key Responsibilities Welcome and support attendees • Greet guests warmly and respectfully upon arrival. • Help attendees feel comfortable and confident as they enter the event. • Provide a friendly and approachable presence throughout the day.
Usher guests into sessions • Assist with the smooth flow of attendees into the main hall, breakout sessions, and other event spaces. • Help manage entry and exit points to minimise disruption and maintain session schedules. Check registrations • Confirm registrations for breakout sessions and workshops. • Provide guidance to attendees regarding session access and seating arrangements. • Escalate any registration issues to event staff when required.
Provide clear directions • Assist attendees in navigating the venue. • Direct guests to sessions, exhibitor areas, amenities, quiet spaces, and other key locations. • Answer general questions about the event program and facilities.
Maintain a calm and welcoming environment • Help foster a respectful, considerate, and inclusive atmosphere. • Be mindful of the emotional nature of some conversations and interactions. • Support attendees who may require assistance by connecting them with appropriate event staff. Respond to enquiries • Provide general event information in a professional and helpful manner. • Refer complex questions or concerns to the relevant staff member or event coordinator.
