Patient Visitor
Social engagement for patients
Tasks: · Sit with patients to provide companionship through chatting, reading etc · Engage patients in activities such as board games and craft etc · Accompany patients to the garden/outdoor areas after consultation · Prepare tea/coffee for patients outside of meal delivery times · Assist in reducing patient loneliness and anxiety through friendly, respectful interaction. · Distribute comfort items such as blankets and reading material · Assist with meal tray setup (non-clinical assistance only). · Assist with organised ward activities or recreation programs. · Support hospital-run wellbeing initiatives such as art or music sessions
Guiding Stars
Wayfinding for patients & visitors
Tasks: · Meet and greet patients & visitors. · Directing or escorting patients & visitors to areas within hospital campus. · Assist patients & visitors with enquiries regarding appointments. · Use of wheelchairs to transport patients to appointments may be necessary (only if Volunteer is able). · Communicating with hospital staff/departments as required.
Admin Support
Support for administration staff
Tasks: · Chart filing: · Work with admin staff in ED and Acute Ward to collect information · Transport charts to different areas of the campus · Folding patient letters . Assisting the staff with other support tasks as needed
