Tiny Dots Early Intervention supports young children and their families through compassionate, family-centred early intervention services. We help children grow in communication, development, participation and everyday life, while supporting parents and caregivers with practical strategies.
This Role
Tiny Dots is seeking a creative, reliable and values-aligned Social Media Creator to strengthen our online presence and connect with more families, professionals and community members.
This role suits someone interested in communication, child development, disability inclusion, allied health or digital marketing who wants to support a purpose-driven organisation.
The volunteer will create engaging, informative content that reflects our work and raises awareness of early intervention, developmental support and family-centred practice.
Key Duties
- Create and schedule posts for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Develop content aligned with Tiny Dots’ mission, values and services
- Write clear, warm and professional captions
- Create simple visuals using Canva or similar tools
- Assist with a content calendar
- Promote awareness of early intervention, speech pathology, occupational therapy, child development and neurodiversity-affirming supports
- Share service updates, events, resources, family tips and achievements
- Support brand consistency across platforms
- Monitor engagement and suggest ideas to improve reach
- Research awareness dates, campaigns and community topics
- Ensure content is respectful, child-safe, inclusive and aligned with guidelines
- Work with the Director or nominated staff member for approval before posting
Skills and Experience Needed
Essential
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Confidence using Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Basic content creation skills, including captions and simple graphics
- Familiarity with Canva or similar tools
- Good organisation and time management
- Ability to work independently and respond to feedback
- Understanding of professionalism, confidentiality and respectful communication
- Genuine interest in supporting children, families, disability inclusion, allied health or early intervention
Desirable
- Experience in social media, communications, marketing or digital content
- Experience in not-for-profit, education, allied health, disability or child/family settings
- Knowledge of inclusive, strengths-based and family-centred communication
- Experience with scheduling tools or content calendars
- Basic photography, video editing or graphic design skills
Training and Support Provided
Training includes induction to Tiny Dots’ mission, values and family-centred work; guidance on our brand voice, social media expectations, privacy, confidentiality and child-safe communication; and learning how to share strategies that support child development and learning, and understand developmental delays and pathways to support. Ongoing supervision, feedback and resources are provided.
