About the organisation
Street Side Medics is a not-for-profit, GP-led mobile medical service for people experiencing homelessness. Our vision is to ensure that all vulnerable individuals requiring healthcare can access it effortlessly, with dignity and respect.
At Street Side Medics make long term commitments to the communities in which we work. By teaming up with local community partners, and delivering our clinics from the same place, at the same time, on the same day, each week, we’re able to build lasting relationships and ensure continuity of care.
The team on the ground each week are all volunteers and include GPs, other medical specialists, junior doctors, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and other medical and non-medical super stars. The clinics operate from vans with full medical fit outs, and work in conjunction with other homeless services 6 days a week at 14 locations across New South Wales and Victoria.
