Community Lunch Service and Engagement Volunteers are the welcoming face of the community meals program. This role focuses on serving meals and creating a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment for people attending the lunch.

Volunteers help foster a friendly atmosphere, promote social connection, and contribute to a positive and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Anglicare is a child safe organisation, committed to the Child Safe Standards set out in the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. All volunteers are expected to uphold behaviours, values and attitudes that promote the safety, dignity and wellbeing of children and young people at all times, in line with Anglicare’s child‑safe policies, procedures and legal obligations.  

Key Responsibilities *Serve meals and beverages to community members in a friendly and respectful way.

*Assist with the preparation and cleanliness of self-service tea and coffee station.

*Engage respectfully and positively with participants, offering a welcoming presence and conversation when appropriate.

*Promote a safe, inclusive, and dignified experience for all attendees.

*Establish and maintain appropriate boundaries in line with Centre guidelines.

*Maintain clear professional boundaries and comply with Anglicare’s Code of Conduct.

*Comply with Anglicare Reportable Conduct policies and procedures in accordance with organisational and legislative requirements.

*Comply with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, including incident and hazard reporting.

*Follow all relevant Anglicare policies, procedures, and safeguarding frameworks.

*Undertake other reasonable, role appropriate duties as requested by the Centre Staff or Volunteer Coordinator to support the wellbeing and safety of clients and visitors.
