Emergency Relief Volunteers provide practical, hands-on support within the service. This role focuses on assisting with the effective management of food and essential goods by sorting, stacking, and organising incoming donations.

Volunteers support incoming deliveries, including unloading and unpacking food, as well as sorting produce and other items. The role also involves assisting with stock management and rotation to ensure safe food handling practices and helping to maintain a clean and safe storeroom environment.

Additionally, volunteers will help prepare emergency relief food packs in advance, enabling timely and efficient support for the community.

Key Responsibilities *Assist staff with the preparation and distribution of emergency relief food and supplies.

*Support clients to navigate the process where appropriate.

*Assist with recording required information in accordance with confidentiality and privacy requirements.

*Maintain a calm, supportive presence in a busy frontline environment.

*Unload and unpack food deliveries.

*Stock rotation.

*Help maintain a clean and safe work environment

*Assist with checking the quality of incoming products and produce.

*Promote a safe, inclusive, and dignified experience for all attendees.

*Establish and maintain appropriate boundaries in line with Centre guidelines.

*Maintain clear professional boundaries and comply with Anglicare’s Code of Conduct.

*Comply with Anglicare Reportable Conduct policies and procedures in accordance with organisational and legislative requirements.

*Comply with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, including incident and hazard reporting.

*Follow all relevant Anglicare policies, procedures, and safeguarding frameworks.

*Undertake other reasonable, role‑appropriate duties as requested by the Centre Staff or Volunteer Coordinator to support the wellbeing and safety of clients and visitors.
