Marketing Officer – Fundraising (Volunteer)

Save Our Wildlife Foundation Inc. (SOWFI) is seeking a passionate and organised volunteer to join our team as Marketing Officer – Fundraising.
Every year, SOWFI volunteers rescue, transport and support thousands of native animals across South Australia. As demand for our services continues to grow, so does the need for sustainable fundraising and donor engagement.
This exciting volunteer role will help strengthen relationships with our supporters, grow community giving, develop fundraising campaigns, and ensure donors understand the impact their contributions make to wildlife rescue and conservation.
Working closely with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in helping secure the financial support that enables SOWFI's volunteers to continue their vital work.
About the role
As Marketing Officer – Fundraising, you will help develop and deliver fundraising initiatives that build long-term relationships with supporters and increase sustainable income for the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Donor Engagement & Relationship Management
- Building strong relationships with donors and supporters
- Managing the donor journey from first-time supporter through to long-term advocate
- Supporting donor retention and acquisition activities
- Identifying opportunities to grow community giving programs
- Assisting with the development of SOWFI's bequest program
- Coordinating donor communications, acknowledgements and impact reporting
- Responding to donor enquiries professionally and promptly
Fundraising Campaigns & Marketing
Working alongside SOWFI's marketing team to:
- Develop and implement donor fundraising campaigns
- Support fundraising events and community engagement activities
- Create engaging content for social media, email campaigns and promotional materials
- Share stories that demonstrate the impact of donations on wildlife rescue and conservation
- Promote donor and community fundraising opportunities
Administration & Reporting
- Maintaining accurate donor records and databases
- Supporting donation administration processes
- Assisting with reporting and fundraising performance tracking
- Working collaboratively with SOWFI's Finance Team and leadership group
About You
You may have experience in fundraising, marketing, community engagement, donor relations, customer service, communications, or the not-for-profit sector.
We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys building meaningful relationships
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills
- Is organised and self-motivated
- Understands donor stewardship and supporter engagement
- Is comfortable using databases or CRM systems
- Is passionate about making a positive community impact
- Has a genuine love of Australian native wildlife
